Matt Koldewey. Matt’s the little brother of Nick Koldewey (the strapping young lad seen in the American flag tank, below). Nick is a SOLID, all around good dude. He recently shipped off to Officer Leadership Training School, and he will then go on to Ranger School from there. Nick invited Matt to BSP NOVA just before he left so that we could help prepare him to lift properly, strengthen him up, and put some size on before college…
Having Koldewey genes, this shouldn’t be a problem (see picture below…).
Matt hopped right in and crushed the first Alpha Challenge he participated in. He beat the pack with a 4.6 40yd dash. Not too shabby…

First off, congrats on winning the Alpha Challenge with a 40yd sprint time of 4.6! Tell us a little bit about your sports background:
I’ve played football, soccer, wrestling, basketball, gymnastics, and even baseball- Just about every sport I wanted to try and see if I was good at it.
What are your biggest training goals?
I definitely want to be stronger and change my body. I’ve had the same slim build for my whole life, and it’s time for a change. My biggest training goal right now is to get my form near perfect so I can use it outside of BSP NOVA as well.
Who is your personal hero?
My brother Nick is my personal hero. Hopefully I can be as strong as him one day…
If you could pick the next challenge, what would you throw out there?
Definitely an ISO lunge challenge!

There you have it, this weeks challenge is an ISO Lunge Challenge! Want to participate? Hold the bottom position of a lunge (both legs bent 90 degrees, back knee just off the floor)… Hold the position for as long as possible. Take up to 2 minutes break before doing the other side. Record your total time with left leg forward + total time with right leg forward.
The mechanics of the ISO Lunge are a little more detailed than that- so listen to the ISO man himself, coach Jeremy Frisch, explain!
